Tektite Tumbled | Transformation, Willpower, and New Beginnings
Origin and Mineralogical Formation
From a geological perspective, tektite is a natural glass whose genesis is linked to major meteorite impacts. Unlike obsidian (of volcanic origin), it results from the instantaneous melting of the Earth's crustal rocks under the effect of colossal kinetic energy during an impact.
This fusion-ejection process projects silicate terrestrial sediments into the upper atmosphere, or even space. Upon reentry, these materials undergo extremely rapid cooling (quenching), preventing any crystallization. The result is an amorphous structure, predominantly composed of silicon dioxide (SiO_2), characterized by a very low water content and a glassy texture often sculpted by atmospheric friction during its reentry.
Intentions and Symbolic Benefits
Tektite accompanies periods of change and helps to make decisions with firmness. It is used to promote overcoming blockages and bring greater clarity of mind during new projects. Its lightness and particular structure make it a unique support for cultivating perseverance.
Tektite: Ideal for marking a transition, it encourages a new dynamic and supports determination. It helps to gain perspective to move forward with greater assurance.
