Yet, despite its growing popularity, I have decided not to offer it in my shop.
This is not a choice against its virtues, but a choice for your energetic practice. Between the difficulties of traceability, the market saturation by counterfeits, and the existence of much more stable and vibrant alternatives, I preferred to select mineral allies whose ethics and effectiveness I can guarantee.
In this article, I will explain the reasons behind this choice and, above all, which stones to choose to obtain the same benefits (or even better results) with what I have rigorously selected for you.
My refusal to offer Shungite is not a decision taken lightly, nor a doubt about its theoretical virtues in lithotherapy. It is the result of a rigorous analysis of the current mineralogical market's excesses. As an expert, my role is to filter for you the "truth" from the "marketing." Here are the three pillars that justify this radical decision:
Shungite is what is known as an "endemic" mineral: it only comes from one place on Earth, the Zazhoginsky deposit, in the Republic of Karelia (Russia). This geographical exclusivity poses a major ethical problem in 2026. When a resource is so localized, its production is subject to state monopolies and export channels that severely lack transparency.
Today, it has become impossible to guarantee that extraction complies with environmental standards or that miners' working conditions are decent. I refuse to market a mineral whose journey, from the geological fault to my shop, remains a logistical and human grey area.

Shungite is one of the few carbon minerals to possess ohmic electrical conductivity. This is a fascinating peculiarity, but it is also a trap for the consumer. The market is currently saturated with imitations: fossilized charcoal, low-quality graphite, or even "shale shungite" (a rock that contains less than 5% shungite carbon).
To distinguish a genuine stone from a counterfeit, one would have to perform conductivity tests with a multimeter on each sample or undergo laboratory analysis by X-ray diffraction. Without a scientific guarantee of absolute purity, the risk of offering you a stone that is energetically inert—or even polluting due to charcoal residues—is too high for my professional ethics.

The number one selling point of Shungite relies on C60 fullerenes, spherical carbon molecules with antioxidant properties. However, there is a truth that few resellers dare to tell: science demonstrates that these molecules are only present in significant quantities in "Elite" Shungite (Type I), a vitreous, silvery form that represents less than 1% of total production.
Classic black Shungite (Type III), the kind found everywhere as pyramids or tumbled stones, contains only infinitesimal traces, often undetectable. Selling classic Shungite by promising the effects of fullerenes is, in my opinion, a commercial deviation. I prefer to direct you towards stones with a stable crystalline structure and whose benefits are proven by centuries of practice, without marketing artifice.

While Shungite is often presented as the ultimate shield, Black Tourmaline (or Schorl) is a much more reliable and healthy ally for your daily life. In an environment saturated with frequencies (Wi-Fi, 5G, screens), it offers a concrete response where Shungite often ends up saturating.
This is a fundamental question. Unlike many minerals, Tourmaline's properties have been documented since 1880. The Curie brothers proved its piezoelectricity: the crystal's ability to generate an electrical charge under pressure or heat. This constant electrical activity allows it to produce negative ions.
In bio-electronic lithotherapy, this property is used to compensate for ionic pollution (positive ions) generated by our computers and smartphones. Tourmaline does not "destroy" waves—which would cut off your connection—but it acts as a filter that stabilizes the energetic atmosphere of your immediate environment.
If you were attracted to Shungite for its "total shield" aspect and deep connection to the earth, Black Obsidian is the radical ally you need. Often called "the stone of truth," it doesn't just filter energies; it transforms them at their root.
Formed from the rapid cooling of lava, Obsidian is a volcanic glass without a crystalline network. This geological characteristic allows it to act as an energetic vacuum cleaner, capturing heavy energies where other minerals merely deflect them. This makes it a much more powerful psychic protection tool than classic Shungite.
Choosing a stone should never be dictated by a trend or opaque marketing. While Shungite has its theoretical merits, the reality of its current market demands a caution that I prefer to transform into a quality requirement for you.
By opting for Black Tourmaline or Black Obsidian, you are investing in allies whose origin is traceable, effectiveness is proven, and vibration is preserved.
